COMING SOON TO A NEIGHBORHOOD NEAR YOU!

What is a street crosser? This site was built to help you discover the answer to this question. Besides learning about the book that bears the name Street Crossers, you will also find a space where you can connect with others around the topic of street crossing.

In short, a street crosser is a cross-cultural church planter . . . a missionary to the other side . . . to another world across the street from the church building where you meet with your community of faith. But it's a particular kind of church planter to whom this site is dedicated. First of all, this particular kind of church planter establishes faith communities that are "simple" and "organic" in nature. Yet, they do so not out of protest against the traditional church, but in response to the need for missionaries, i.e., street crossers, to go to the other side . . . to another world and culture where traditional Christianity is viewed with skepticism and disdain. Secondly, and perhaps more significantly, street crossers plant churches in partnership with traditional churches. This is perhaps the most unique and exciting characteristic of a street crosser.

My intention is to post new stories about street crossers as I become aware of them. In the meantime, you can begin your inquiry by reading the four stories described in my book Street Crossers: Conversations With Simple Church Planters and Stories of Those Who Send Them.

I'm also counting on viewers of this site to engage in conversations on the blog page, so don't be shy . . . just be polite and respectful :-)
